Q: How long have you been a paralegal?
A: I started as a paralegal immediately after graduating from CU Boulder and I have been a paralegal for the past six years.
Q: Have you ever worked in any other areas of the law?
A: I started my legal career in Mass Torts. I then transitioned to working for an attorney who practiced Criminal Defense and Personal Injury, before finding my dream job as a Family Law paralegal.
Q: What drew you to family law?
A: Unfortunately, as in almost any instance that you require the assistance of an attorney, there is something stressful occurring in your life. I was drawn to the legal field, because it provides me a unique opportunity to help people during these moments and be a source of consistency and understanding during a stressful situation. This is especially the case with Family Law. In Family Law, I work every day with people who are going through a difficult time, which means that I have the opportunity to help people every day.
Q: What do you enjoy most about family law?
A: What I love the most about family law is that we are given a unique opportunity to help client’s through challenging moments in their lives. Being able to assist the attorneys and clients to a resolution on an issue that seems insurmountable in the moment is one of the most rewarding things I been able to experience in my career.
Q: What do you think makes you stand out among other professionals?
A: I take my profession very seriously. I genuinely understand that working in the field of family law means that my work directly affects people’s everyday lives. I want our Clients to have the most positive experience possible through this process, and I treat our clients with respect and their concerns with the urgency that they deserve.
Q: Are you originally from Colorado? If so, what do you love most about it? If not, what brought you to Colorado and what do you love most about it?
A: I am originally from Colorado and stayed in Colorado for college attending The University of Colorado at Boulder (Go Buffs!).
Q: When you are not working at GEM Family Law, what do you enjoy doing in your free time?
A: In my free time I enjoy walking my dog through Cheeseman Park, riding scooters to brunch, spending time with family, and going to Buff’s football games.
Q: What is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
A: In high school I was accepted into the Colorado Youth Symphony Orchestra, however instead of joining, I pursued my passion of Basketball and ultimately tore my ACL, which ended my basketball career.
