This week, learn more about Attorney Tyler Lambert!
Q. How long have you been an attorney?
A. I am in my 6th year of practice.
Q. Have you ever worked in any other areas of the law?
A. I started my legal career in criminal defense and also have experience handling probate and estate planning matters.
Q. What drew you to family law?
A. Throughout my career I have always enjoyed working directly with people who are facing various hardships. We all face struggles and obstacles in our lives and it’s rewarding to help people find solutions to their problems.
Q. What do you enjoy most about family law?
A. I enjoy seeing the progress many of my clients make throughout their legal matter. When I first meet many of my clients, they are at the one of the lowest points in their lives and often unsure what to expect or what they should do. My job allows me to educate people on how the law intersects with their goals and concerns so we can work toward a solution and a positive outcome.
Q. What do you think makes you stand out among other professionals?
A. I do not believe in adding additional conflict to my client’s cases. When two people are already at odds with each other, no matter the legal context, it is my job to advocate for my client. That said, I am also resolved to keeping my client’s emotions separate from my own. While some cases will require attending court and engaging in litigation, I believe it is often in the client’s best interest to resolve matters outside of court, and I support my clients in those efforts.
Q. Are you originally from Colorado? If so, what do you love most about it? If not, what brought you to Colorado and what do you love most about it?
A. I was born in Madison, WI and grew up in Fort Wayne, IN. During law school, I wanted to be a public defender and knew that Colorado had one of the best state public defender offices in the country. Although I ultimately ended up in private criminal defense practice, I fell in love with the Colorado lifestyle early on in my career. The climate is perfect for outdoor activities and the people are so kind and welcoming, and I have enjoyed developing my legal. career in the Colorado legal community.
Q. When you are not working at GEM Family Law, what do you enjoy doing in your free time?
A. I love being outside, especially in the mountains. Being among the trees and beautiful scenery is my favorite way to de-stress after a long week. My wife and I try to explore new hikes regularly and enjoy traveling throughout Europe to visit her family and friends.
Q. What is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
A. I’ve played soccer since I was about 6 years old, and I’m currently on two teams. Also, my wife and I have two cats, Michael and Oscar, named after characters from The Office.
